Now Hiring: Remote Mental health triage clinician

1/5/2022

About Us
Frontier Psychiatry was created in 2019 by passionate psychiatrists who believe that every community deserves access to great psychiatric care. We feel that smaller, underserved communities are often overlooked or overcharged by larger telepsychiatry companies looking to grow their business quickly. We know that one-size-fits-all telepsychiatry does not work. As a result, we decided to launch Frontier Psychiatry by collaborating with healthcare organizations in rural states, starting with Montana, working with local partners to assess and overcome regional barriers to care.

Job Description
Frontier Psychiatry is a Montana-based fully virtual clinic. We offer 24/7 crisis mental health assessments in 12 emergency rooms across Montana. We are looking for an independently licensed clinician who will conduct initial risk assessments to determine the patient's risk to self and others and to assess their overall needs. Depending on the outcome of this assessment, a plan will be implemented. This may include meeting with one of our psychiatrists for assessment and services, referrals to counseling or other services, or coordinating placement to a higher level of care

We are looking to recruit a qualified and competent mental health professional to join our team who shares our vision of making quality mental health accessible to all Montanans. This clinician will play a vital role in providing quality mental health services to patients as well as reducing avoidable readmission to emergency rooms.

We Offer
  • Guaranteed minimum pay per shift with upside based on patient volume
  • No minimum commitment to frequency of shifts. Flexible scheduling of either 6 or 12 hour shifts.
  • Work as a part of a team with psychiatrists and APRNs
  • Support patients in emergency rooms across Montana and help us make TIMELY psychiatric care available to every Montanan by 2025

Qualifications
  • MUST have an independent license to practice in the state of Montana including LCSW, LCPC, LMFT or advanced medical license.
  • Able to work independently conducting risk and needs assessments, determining disposition recommendations, and coordinating care
  • Comfort assessing for suicidality, psychosocial needs, substance use concerns, behavioral needs, risk of harm to others. Comfort with involuntary commitment procedures when indicated.
  • Experience with case management and community mental health

Alternatives Inc. partners with Frontier Psychiatry to provide high quality psychiatric care to their clients and community. When asked about this partnership, Chelsey Duenow, Pre-Release Treatment Coordinator stated,

"At Alternatives Inc. we have been so thankful for this partnership that has granted  our clients access and outstanding psychiatric care in an impressively quick process. Our residents have always struggled with access to community psychiatric care and in the past might be faced with the crisis of running out of medications before they could be seen by someone in the community on a waiting list that was months long. The telehealth platform allows for individuals with limited mobility or other restrictions to receive care and saves time. We are able to have new and existing patients seen in a matter of days."

Frontier psychiatry believes the only way to address the current mental health crisis in Montana is by creating a rich network of mental health partners throughout the state. We are stronger when we work together:

"From the start of our partnership, the team at Frontier has been willing to collaborate with us and improve systems to create an effective system for serving our clients. The providers are easy to work with and treat us as partners and our patients with high regard and a spirit of collaboration."
