Founded in 1967, Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center (EMCMHC) provides quality, professional, and comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment services throughout Eastern Montana. Servicing 17 counties with 18 facility locations, EMCMHC greatly understands the challenges Montanans face when looking for accessible mental health care, especially those in rural and frontier communities.
When asked what she wished others knew about providing mental health care in rural and frontier areas, Brenda Kneeland, CEO, stated, "I wish people knew how resilient and amazing our eastern Montana communities are. The people of this region come together to support one another and care for members of their communities without hesitation. I also want people to know that service in a frontier 48,000 mile service area is challenging but is possible through collaboration and partnerships."
In addition to a variety of mental health services, EMCMHC provides Substance Abuse and Dependency Services (SADS) and has partnered with Frontier Recovery to provide Medication Assisted Treatment and psychiatric care for co-occurring disorders to their clients.
When discussing our partnership, Kneeland notes, "Our partnership with Frontier has changed everything for us. For the first time in our agency's 53 year history, we can help our clients throughout our 17 county region access psychiatric care. We have access to the best mental health and addiction treatment available. This is huge for Montana."
EMCMHC is committed to helping create healthy and secure communities through a comprehensive system of care that holds paramount the needs of their clients. Vital to this commitment is a network of services and professional providers offering services of unparalleled value. Frontier Psychiatry is proud to be a part of this important network.
Thank you EMCMHC for being a mental health champion for Montana!
