Dr. Marie Dona is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She joined Frontier Psychiatry with a passion for wanting to treat the underserved population and
expanding access to mental health care after exposure to challenges faced by populations of lower socioeconomic classes both while living in the Philippines
and completing her psychiatric training in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts. She moved across the world to join her family in the
Philippines, where she obtained her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon in the Philippines. She then completed her general psychiatry
residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where she served as chief resident. She finished her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she served as chief fellow.
She has extensive experience working in inpatient, emergency, consultation-liaison, and outpatient behavioral health settings. She is interested in patient centered care and integrative medicine, treating the patient as a whole person. She was a systems of care award winner at AACAP while discussing gender fluidity in a systems of care model, and is currently undergoing additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Florida Institute of Psychoanalysis. She has special interests in eating disorders and emergency psychiatry.
