Marnie Basta-Smith, PMHNP-BC
Emergency Psychiatry
Marnie is a board certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. She received her master’s degree from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in 2016. While pursuing her NP education, she worked in a pulmonary specialty unit at the University of Colorado Hospital. She obtained her RN degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA in 2003 and has previously worked in pediatric oncology, hospice, cardiology step-down, orthopedics and general medicine. She is also a proud US Navy Veteran and was deployed twice in her active duty service time. She has been serving underserved and vulnerable populations with complex severe mental illnesses while working in a community mental health center in the Gallatin Valley since 2017. She is passionate about providing individualized, evidence based care and increasing access to mental health care for all Montanans. She has a special interest in veterans mental health concerns.
She has lived in Montana since 2004, outside of the time spent in CO for graduate school. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs, and riding the beautiful roads of Montana on her motorcycle. She also enjoys camping, live music and travel.
