Padmapriya Marpuri, MD
Geriatric and Adult Psychiatrist
Dr. Padmapriya Marpuri attained her medical degree from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India. She completed a 4-year psychiatry training in the United Kingdom and became a member of the prestigious Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). She then immigrated to the United States of America where she completed her psychiatry residency from Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA, and her geriatric fellowship from Brown University, Providence, RI. She is board-certified in both general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. She is trained in performing electroconvulsive therapy and has special interest in cultural psychiatry. She has worked in various settings such as acute inpatient units, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, correctional facilities, intensive outpatient and community outreach programs. She has over 15 years of experience in her specialty treating psychiatric disorders in the elderly. Dr. Marpuri has published in peer-reviewed journals and has been actively involved in teaching psychiatry residents and medical students. She is a member of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry and the Indo-American Psychiatric Association.
