Miriam Similon, MD
Dr. Similon earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, where she majored in both Psychology and Hispanic Literatures and Cultures. She received her medical degree through the American Medical Program at Tel Aviv University and completed her general psychiatry residency at Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell Health. She is currently completing fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Yale University. Dr. Similon provides compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and their families. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, suicidality and self-injurious behaviors, and consultation-liaison psychiatry. She has a particular interest in the psychiatric care of youth with eating disorders and other complex medical conditions, as well as supporting LGBTQ+ children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Similon values a collaborative approach to treatment and works closely with families, schools, pediatricians, and other healthcare providers to promote emotional well-being and healthy development. Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Similon enjoys hiking, dancing, cooking for friends, and traveling.
