Psychiatric Care for Every County in Montana
Distance is the main barrier to psychiatric care in Montana. Forty-five of the state’s 56 counties are frontier counties, with fewer than six people per square mile, covering 90 percent of the land. Nearly 45 percent of Montanans live outside ametro area. All but five counties are federally designated mental health shortage areas. For many people, the nearest psychiatric care sits well outsidetheir own county.
Frontier Psychiatry is built for that problem. We are a Montana practice with Montana-licensed providers. We accept Montana Medicaid. We see patients by video anywhere in the state.
